The Renewable Power Podcast is a regular look at the economic, legal, political and technical issues affecting the renewable and clean-tech industry. Lacey WatsonEnergy attorney, Lacey Breeden, has a passion for the energy industry. Prior to joining the firm, she served as in-house corporate and regulatory counsel for Cielo Wind Power, a private wind energy development company. There, she was responsible for the full range of legal issues related to the organization’s business activities, including purchase, generation, sale and transmission of power assets, and other commercial, compliance and real property rights matters. Additionally, Lacey served as a Southwest Power Pool (SPP) and Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) regulatory member representative.  Active in her industry, Lacey serves on the board of the Texas Renewable Energy Industry Alliance (TREIA) and is a regular contributor to energy and legal publications.

 

Melissa MillerMelissa Miller, president of Miller Wind + Renewables, has over 13 years of experience developing West Texas wind projects. As former Vice President of Texas Development for Cielo Wind Power, Melissa has diverse experience in large-scale commercial wind project development, including the 161MW Brazos Wind Project, 78MW Golden Spread Panhandle Wind Ranch, the 161MW Spinning Spur Wind Ranch, and the 161MW Spinning Spur Two Wind Ranch.  As a longtime advocate for Texas ecomonic and energy initiatives, Melissa currently serves as a TREIA board member and is co-chair of membership and outreach for the organization.  She is also the former executive director for the Austin Independent Business Alliance.
